A Little Sunshine at the Sink

There’s something quietly luxurious about slowing down at the sink. Warm water, golden light, and a scent that feels like morning sun spilling through the window.

Honey hand soap is one of those small, everyday comforts that turns a routine moment into an act of care. Honey brings its naturally nourishing, softening touch, while gentle Castile soap cleans without stripping the skin. Add Wild Orange essential oil, and suddenly the experience feels brighter—cheerful, uplifting, and easy to love.

Wild Orange has a way of making ordinary things feel lighter. Its sweet citrus aroma adds a spark of joy, transforming hand‑washing into a simple reset during the day. It’s the kind of scent that lifts the mood without trying too hard—clean, happy, and comforting all at once.

This homemade soap is perfect for kitchens, bathrooms, or even the shower. It’s kind to the skin, beautifully simple, and made with ingredients you recognize and trust. And because it’s made by hand, there’s room to make it your own—swapping oils, adjusting scents, and letting creativity flow.

Sometimes wellness lives in the smallest moments. A pump of soap. A breath of citrus. A pause before moving on.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup organic coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 35 drops Wild Orange
  • 1 tsp organic vegetable glycerine
  • 1/2 cup unscented Castile soap

Directions: Heat coconut oil in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds so it liquefies. Stir in the honey, then essential oil, then vegetable glycerine, then Castile soap. Continue to stir gently but thoroughly until well mixed. Pour the mixture into a soap dispenser. When separation occurs, shake gently before using.

I used Wild Orange in this recipe to make it happy and cleansing. Alternatively, you can use Lavender for classic elegance and relaxation or doTERRA’s On Guard for extra cleansing and immune defense. Or get creative and try other oils you love.
